Bo Nix trained over the summer with these two all-time greats

As NFL training camps officially kicked off Tuesday, Broncos quarterback Bo Nix arrived more prepared than ever—thanks to a summer spent learning from some of the most respected minds in the sport. Adam Schefter took to his X, formerly known as Twitter, and posted a story from Jeff Legwold with the following caption that Broncos Country will love to see.

Before veterans reported this week, Nix took the initiative to work with NFL legend Drew Brees and iconic throwing coach Tom House in San Diego. It was a statement move from the young Broncos quarterback, who’s entering his second season with expectations rising fast.

Summer Grind with a Hall of Famer
Nix’s offseason included four to five intense days of quarterback work with Brees, the former New Orleans Saints icon who now serves as a mentor to select rising QBs. The two met in California, where they worked on timing, footwork, and decision-making—all traits that defined Brees’ Hall of Fame career.

The connection was made possible through Sean Payton, who coached Brees for over a decade and now leads Denver’s rebuild. While Payton has avoided labeling Nix the next Brees, the comparison is hard to ignore given their size, style, and intelligence at the position.

“I’d love to get connected to him just because he’s been through it,” Nix said to Legwold in 2024. This summer, that connection turned into a rare opportunity to learn directly from a legend.

Refining the Details with Tom House
Nix didn’t stop with Brees. He also trained with Tom House, the biomechanics expert whose client list includes Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. House worked with Nix to sharpen his release, footwork, and upper-body mechanics—ensuring that every throw becomes more efficient and sustainable.

For a second-year QB, working with the likes of people like Brees and House isn’t just smart—it’s elite-level preparation.

Ready for Camp & Spotlight
With veterans reporting earlier this week and practices opening up to fans Friday, Nix heads into training camp already steps ahead. While some players use the summer to rest, Nix used it to build—a sign of both maturity and hunger.
